I bought this as a daily driver. I found it for a great price, and I was looking for any excuse to get out of my damn Chevy Colorado truck. A few weeks after buying the car I ran into some problems. The transmission bellhousing, as well as the cooler, were leaking fluid, and I needed to replace the converter. I installed a Yank SS3600 and a new B&M cooler to solve the problem. The converter that was in the car ended up being a Pontiac Sunfire converter with an adapter welded onto it, and the cooler was bent in half. The dealer I bought the car from was kind enough to pay for the repairs. I give a big thanks to them for that!
With all that taken care of, it's now time to just enjoy the car. I just purchased a Corsa catback, and this thing is awesome. I hated the Flowmaster, it was too quiet, and it didn't have a growl to it like this one does.
I plan to sell the car later next year to get a 2006 GTO. If I do end up keeping it, this is what I plan to do to it.
1.) Collectors Edition Trans Am Mod: Painting the rear valance flat black like the CETA came from the factory. 2.) Strano Sway Bars front and rear. 3.) I want to lower it and put on new springs, but that wont be until the stock shocks are on their way out. 4.) A WS6 or WS9 hood from VFN with black stripes down the side of the scoops.
Exterior Modifications: 1.) Black Corvette ZR1 (Grand Sport) wheels w/ polished lip. 2.) Black reflective inserts all around. 3.) 10% Black Window tint.
Performance: Valvetrain: 1.) 23X/23X Mystery Cam....on the smaller side though. 2.) Comp 7.400 Chromoly Pushrods 3.) Comp Adjustable Timing Set 4.) Comp Cams 918 Beehive Springs rated for .600 lift. 5.) Comp valve seals, titanium retainers, and spring seats.
Engine: 1.) Texas Speed Lid w/ K&N 6.) Ported 241 Casting Stock Heads
Exhaust: 1.) Jet-Hot Long Tube Headers 2.) Coated Jet-Hot ORY 3.) Corsa Catback w/3.5 Inch Pro Series Tips.
Suspension/Chassis: 1.) SLP 38mm Front Swaybar (Too much bar, but better than stock.)
Drivetrain: 1.) Yank SS3600 Torque Converter 2.) B&M Deep Pan 3.) Built Tranny 4.) Big Tranny Cooler 5.) 3.73

Your car is ssswwweeeeettt! You didn't say in your post, but I'm assuming you have an LS1. My friend has a '99 TA with an LS1. Exhaust mods make a huge difference in those cars! He's got headers & 3" exhaust w/H-pipe. Lower gears in the rear help a lot, too. His car is soooo much fun to drive! He's already destroyed 2 auto transmissions. Good thing he works for a transmission shop.

When you say it had a Sunfire converter on it, are you talking torque converter or catalytic converter? I'm a little confused by all the talk about the trans problems you had, but i'm almost positive there's no way a sunfire torque converter would even move that off the dealers lot.
Dodge Challenger Research
With great deals and authoritative reviews, find all you need to research and buy the new Dodge Challenger, as well as compare it with other vehicles to help you in your car buying process. Fuel efficiency is important and the 2010 Challenger with a 18.0 gallon main premium unleaded fuel tank 15.0 capacity gets 18 mpg, and has a trade in value of $30,014.00 which should come in handy when you go to shop for your next car. The Chevrolet Malibu and the Ford Shelby Gt 500 are other vehicles that might interest you.
