My four door sleeper project was my Dad's since new and was my first car. It has a 454 with edelbrock aluminum heads, rpm air gap intake, Xtreme energy 284 cam, holley 850 dbl pumper, forged pistons, original hei with msd module and coil and black ceramic coated Hooker Competition headers. The TH400 is fully race prepped and has a TCI Streetfighter 3200 stall converter. The rear differential is a BOP 8.5" 10 bolt with 3.73 gears. It also has polyurethane motor and trans mounts, fully rebuilt front and rear suspension, a high ratio Buick Grand National steering box, an air bag in the rear passenger side coil and line lock. The engine bay is fully detailed in blue block paint including all aluminum parts, and has black wires and hoses giving it a stock appearance. The paint was redone in two tone base clear with a painted pinstripe. The interior is stock with a custom headliner and a hand fabbed rear package tray. Gauges are a rare factory full gauge package and a flush mounted mini tach. The object of the project was to create a quick street car in the old sleeper tradition using a smog era 4 door. This represents 17 years of constant upgrades and the work continues. The dragstrip time of 12.36 is with open exhaust and Mickey Thompson 10x26 slicks. The car runs 13.2 at 102 in street form on it's Michelin all seasons. I've always loved the sleeper idea and couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. In the future I would like to increase the cubes to 496.
