June 2008 A Big Milestone. The thundering 428 is between the shock towers
There is a lot of work to go, but I hope to have the engine all plumbed and wired up by next week.

Thunder is a Shelby GT-500 "tribute" car. This enables us to make a lot of stealthy changes to the orginal Ford chassis, which will make it look better, perform better, and overall a much cooler muscle car.
When it is complete we will be using the car to help raise awareness for Muscular Dystrophy.
Just a few of the cool things we have done to the car;
We fitted the fiberglass perfectly and block sanded the underside smooth something that was not very pretty on the original cars.
The rear spoiler was raised one inch.
The car was mini-tubbed and the quarter panel metal was stretched 1 1/8" for fitment of much bigger tires.
The rear brake ducts will be made fully functional, instead of blowing air on the tires, which traditional Shelby's did.
We have custom wheels and tires already to go on the 'stang.
Check back for the latest progress pics.
The car is partially painted now (jambed) and having the mechanicals installed.
We hope to have it ready for full paint by April 2008
Most recent pictures show the sound-proofing which is about 1/3 complete. Gas tank and filler are installed. Trunk, weatherstrip, valance, LED taillights and fiberglass panel, fiberglass quarter extensions, bumper and back up lights.
I tested all the lights prior to install.
I also picked up a billet battery holder (which will be trunk mounted - passenger side) and made some preliminary plans for the trunk mounted subwoofer (on the drivers side)
