Hard for me to believe I've had this baby about 11 years now. I wish I was a lot farther along in her restification but, hey, what can I say? Wife, home and kids are pretty important too.
I swapped out the original 307 and powerglide for a mild 350 and a TH350 when I first got the Cayne back in '98. But the 350 was a high rpm motor and I wanted some "umph" off the line so I built a mild 406 in '99. It's got old double humps with a Comp 268XE cam and KB slugs on 5.7 350 rods. Just last year, I finally got the 10 one-legger replaced with a 12 bolt posi with 3.36 gears locked together with an Eaton posi unit. I fixed up the engine bay and interior a bit. To get the right stance, I've whacked two coils off the front and one off the back.
Someday I'll get around to fixing up the body and dropping some nice aluminum heads on the 400 and shoot for some high 12s in full-size, b-body style.
