I bought my Nova when I was 15 as my first car for $3,800. It was all stock, 307 V-8, Powerglide trans, and 3.08 rear end gears with 72,000 original miles. Since then my buddy Steve and I have dropped in a 383 stroker, a TH350 trans with 2500 stall and shift kit, along with 3.73 gears. I had the car completely restored in 2005, all new fenders, doors, quarter panels, bumpers, windshield, dash cowl, weatherstripping, etc. Kept the same stock color of Flame Orange available in 1972. Car was originally a Rally Nova back in the day. I just swapped out the old junky 305 heads that were on the 383 when I bought it for some Edelbrock E-Tec heads, with a new cam and Air Gap intake. Hoping to put out around 450 hp or more and run well into the 12's. Previous best time on street tires was 13.30 @ 105 mph. The car went through many phases and I grew up through my teens and twenties working on it, cruising in it, and drag racing it with my buddy at Milan Dragway in Michigan. I'm glad I never sold the car, and never plan on selling it as it means too much to me. I used to drive it to high school when I was just a punk and now my wife and I take cruises in it on the weekends. Thanks for reading my story!
