This car was built as a driver from the start -- sort of a semi-modern Rambler. I wanted power and reasonable economy, so I started with a 4.0L six transplant, one of the first few in an AMC car back in 1999. Problems with the block meant it needed a rebuild, so I put the first "stroker" 4.6L in a car (4.0L w/4.2L crank and rods). 56-66 "big" Ramblers have a torque tube drive, but the puny three speed for the original six wasn't up to the power of the stock 4.0L and ate the synchros pretty fast! This was replaced with an AW-4 and a manual shifter, which meant the torque tube had to go! I originally installed a Jeep rear axle with ladder bars, but that was later replaced by a 1986 Jag XJ-6 IRS w/3.55 gears. A front disc brake conversion meant I had the only four wheel independent suspension/disc brake Rambler in the world! A 1990s T-bird rack and pinion steering and 1990s Eagle Premier seats completed the modernization. The car performs, rides, and handles well, and still delivers an overall average of around 19 mpg (22 mpg highway @ 70-75 mph). I still have a couple engine upgrades planned, but I'm very pleased with my daily driver. It's been from the MS Gulf Coast to New York City, and I'll drive it anywhere any time!

With great deals and authoritative reviews, find all you need to research and buy the new Dodge Challenger, as well as compare it with other vehicles to help you in your car buying process. Fuel efficiency is important and the 2010 Challenger with a 18.0 gallon main premium unleaded fuel tank 15.0 capacity gets 18 mpg, and has a trade in value of $30,014.00 which should come in handy when you go to shop for your next car. The Chevrolet Malibu and the Ford Shelby Gt 500 are other vehicles that might interest you.
