I fell in lust with Cougars after I bought my beater of a '70 in 1996. It had a 351 4V with FMX transmission. It was a screamer, but it was way beyond the point of salvation, so I had to junk it and get something "more reliable"
After graduating school and getting a real job, I was finally able to get a decent project car, and luck would have it, there was an original owner '70 on Craigslist about 45 minutes from the house. I jumped in the truck, and after about 3 days of haggling, it was mine.
The original owner had passed away in 2002 and left it to his daughter. They really had no room to store it, so they finally had to get rid of it. Luckily for them and for me, I will never get rid of "Big Red" as they called it.
It was a 65,000 mile unrestored time capsule with new dual exhaust, factory power disk brakes, air conditioning that works and a Montomery Ward bias-ply spare tire in the trunk. No cracks in the dash and not much rust to speak of.
I had a quick paint job put on it and redid the interior myself. I plan to build a windsor stroker and drop it in with a C6 behind it.
Now is the time to have some fun with it.
I plan to rebuild the original 351C 2V and keep it for when it is time to do the final restoration.
Thanks for reading...

Cool Ride. You said you used to have a 351/4v cleveland and it was a screamer, right?Well my friend,in 07 I was running a 70 Ranchero 500 around with close to 500hp.Now,my cleveland has a Scat stroker kit that puts it at 419cu.in.Crane cust.ground hyd.roller, with their roller rockers. This should give me 560 to 580hp.Get yourself some good heads and make that cleveland scream! Good Luck.
Dodge Challenger Research
With great deals and authoritative reviews, find all you need to research and buy the new Dodge Challenger, as well as compare it with other vehicles to help you in your car buying process. Fuel efficiency is important and the 2010 Challenger with a 18.0 gallon main premium unleaded fuel tank 15.0 capacity gets 21 mpg, and has a comparable trade in value which should come in handy when you go to shop for your next car. The Chevrolet Malibu and the Ford Shelby Gt 500 are other vehicles that might interest you.
