I bought this car from a friend of my foreman. It had a 350 with a Super Turbine 300. I had a 71 Monte Carlo that I wrecked so I bought this car more for just transportation. I had a 59 Ford 1/2 ton pickup that I had installed a 68 Olds 455 in. I pulled the motor out of the truck and sold it to a friend of mine. When my friend Mike found out that I had bought the Olds he asked me if I was interested in buying my old 455 back from his brother. I did and the rest is history. the motor: 1968 Oldsmobile 455 F block, Edelbrock 6051 heads. Offenhauser tunnel ram with two 1850-4 Holleys. Ignition is by MSD Pro Billet distributor, and an MDS 6AL box. It fires a Blaster II MSD coil. I am running a Competition cams hydraulic bracket cam. It's a big one too. 268 Degrees @ .050 .565 lift intake and exhaust. It pushes Comp lifters and Pro push rods that activate Harland Sharp roller rockers. These push down the big Comp springs that are recommended with the cam. It runs 10.25.1 pistons and with a reduced combustion chamber makes a little more compression than that. Running gear: the engine runs into a Hughs converter thru a Turbo 400 with a shift kit. This gets handed off to a Chevrolet 12 bolt with Dutchman billet axles and 3:42 gears with an Auburn positraction unit. The exhaust system: It's loud. 23" Dynomax Race Bullets. The exhaust has a balance tube back from the headers and 3" pipe runs to the mufflers which are located under the back seat. There are stubby little turn downs welded onto the ends of the mufflers. I'm also using a set of Jegs Chrome moly wheelie bars I welded up and installed. I'm using a fiberglass hood that I got from Rocket Racing, which is a real nice unit. I installed the hood scoop myself.
