1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit.  Metalime green paint with deluxe white vinyl seats with black accents.  I bought the car in 09 for $2800 because I never saw a mid 70's Firebird with a complete good looking white interior.  Since then, I have cleaned, refurbished, replaced or updated most components of this car over the past 4 years. I wanted to create a sleeper utilizing the now rare color options this car left the factory with. The exterior and interior are remaining as factory as possible.  The meaner stance, wider lettered tires, aftermarket radio and aftermarket mechanical gauges installed in the map pocket location are the only visual changes I have made.  All the original bright work and white side moldings will be placed back on the car after I repaint the car.  Here is a brief list of what has been done so far-
-Eaton 4 leaf, 126 ft/lb/sq inch ws6 style rear springs; OER's shackles and rear leaf mounting kit with rubber bushings;  Trw 522 ft/lb front springs; stripped and restored factory control arms/spindles; installed OEM rubber control arm bushings and Moog ball joints; Poly bumps and stops for control arms; new calipers, rotors, stainless brake lines, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, drums, hardware,  etc; new front wheel bearings; new inner and outer Moog tie rod ends, new Duralast idler arm, restored original center link, rebuilt Napa close ratio steering gear, installed donor 1 3/16th inch front way bar and 5/8th inch rear sway bar using Energy Suspension poly bushings, Protouringfbody's solid body bushings along with their GENII sub frame connectors welded into chassis, Bilstein HD shocks, 700r4 conversion including modification of original shifter using Shifterworks kit and a functioning 2100 stall/lockup converter; SBC conversion using a 290hp GMP crate motor (For now as I build my 400 w72 coded Pontiac motor Cool); rebuilt 4:10 Aubern posi GM 10 bolt differential; restored original Rally II wheels with original beauty rings and center caps; Mastercraft Advenger 255/60/ r15 tires; welded in new Goodmark tail panel, donor cross rail, donor trunk drop offs, donor portions of trunk pan and donor rear quarter extensions..................
there is so much more.....just a partial list.
The car handles better than any Firebird I have ever owned; no flex and takes off out of the hole level.  It corners awesome and is a blast to drive.  I will be rebuilding the 700r4 to handle 500 ft/ lbs and re- gearing to 3:55s once the Pontiac motor is ready.   All in due time.....
